How to grow ginger

How to grow ginger

1. Seed selection

Choose healthy, complete, and non-rotten ginger pieces. Be careful not to make the pieces too large. Each piece should have 1 to 2 relatively strong buds. Break larger pieces of ginger by hand or cut them with a knife, and disinfect the cuts with wood ash or lime.

2. Prepare the soil

Prepare a flowerpot with a drainage hole at the bottom. Add soil into the pot. It is best to use sandy soil. You can also make it yourself using leaf mold, river sand and garden soil.

3. Sowing Method

Place the ginger seed with the bud point facing upwards and plant it in a flowerpot. Then cover it with about 5 to 10 centimeters of soil. Water it thoroughly and take good care of it. Seedlings will grow in about a month.
