How to grow wisteria in autumn

How to grow wisteria in autumn

1. Appropriate lighting

Wisteria is a light-loving plant, so one of the important tasks in autumn care is to provide good light. Choose a place with good light for it, and ensure that it receives light for a certain period of time. Especially in late autumn, light will be helpful for it to survive the winter.

2. Replenish water in time

As soon as autumn begins, if you notice that the soil is dry, you need to water it in time. However, as the temperature gradually drops, its demand for water will gradually decrease, so the amount of watering will also change accordingly. Don't water too much in late autumn.

3. Appropriate amount of fertilizer

Similar to water, you can use some fertilizer in early autumn. However, as the temperature drops, its demand for fertilizer will also decrease and will be reduced slowly. You can stop fertilizing in late autumn.

4. Proper pruning

In late autumn, just before winter, you can prune it to help it survive the winter safely. At this time, most of its leaves have fallen, so you can find out the dry branches and those infected by diseases and insects, and then cut them off. This is beneficial for both wintering and growth in the coming year.

5. Proper ventilation

During the entire autumn maintenance process, ventilation must be ensured, but be careful not to make the wind too strong. Especially in late autumn, cold winds should be avoided as much as possible.
