Does Lisianthus prefer shade or sun?

Does Lisianthus prefer shade or sun?

Lisianthus is easy to grow. As long as it is given proper ventilation and is often placed in the sun, it will grow particularly lush. It is widely planted in many households, especially in a sunny environment, where lisianthus will grow faster.

Does lisianthus like the sun?

Lisianthus is very sensitive to sunlight during its growth period. It is a plant that prefers sunlight. It should be given long daylight during maintenance. Only in this way can its stems and leaves grow vigorously and it is also helpful for the differentiation of flower buds. If conditions permit, it can be given 24 hours of uninterrupted light, and its growth will be better.

Lisianthus can be exposed to the sun in the summer, but it is afraid of excessive exposure to the sun. If it is burned by the sun, you can shade it by about 30%, so that the plant will slowly recover.

Is Lisianthus shade-tolerant?

Lisianthus is not shade-tolerant and is a light-loving plant. If it is placed in a cool place, its flower buds will not differentiate fully and it will not bloom during the flowering period.

Eustoma growth environment

Lisianthus prefers weakly acidic, fertile, loose and well-drained soil. It is best to use improved garden soil with the addition of peat soil, rice bran and a small amount of lime. In addition, the suitable growth temperature of Lisianthus is 15℃-28℃. It can tolerate the low temperature of 0℃ for a short time. The night temperature during the growing season cannot be lower than 12℃. If the temperature is lower than 5℃ in winter, the leaves of Lisianthus will become rosette-shaped and will not be able to bloom.

Lisianthus likes a humid environment, but too much water will damage the roots of Lisianthus and make it prone to disease. Too little water will weaken the growth of the plant and bloom earlier, so watering should be moderate and not excessive.
