The difference between crystal palm and jade dew

Leave the room at the right time

In winter, Clivia spends the winter indoors, and spring is a good time to take it out of the house;

The temperature gradually rises in spring, and the best time to move Clivia indoors is after the Qingming Festival. However, in cold areas, it will take about half a month to delay before moving it indoors.

Remember to ventilate the room for two days before moving it indoors to adapt it to the outside temperature in advance, and then gradually move it out of the room. This is mainly to allow the Clivia to adapt to the changing environment. After moving it out of the room, it must be placed in a well-lit place for maintenance.

Repotting and division

For mature Clivia, it is usually repotted after it blooms in spring, or when it is moved out of the room.

First, remove the old soil and dead roots from the pot, and replace it with new soil. The new pot should be larger than the original one to allow the plant to grow again.

If the plant has roots, use a sterilized knife to cut off the root buds. If the plant cannot have roots, you can break them off by hand, and then apply sulfur powder to the wound to help the plant prevent decay.

The rooted sucker buds can be planted in small pots, while the rootless ones need to be cultivated with fine sand first and can be potted for maintenance only after they have taken root.

Watering and fertilizing

Because the temperature gradually rises in spring, the plants will enter the early growth stage, so they need a lot of water during the growth period, but do not overwater, just keep the pot soil moist;

Because Clivia grows slowly in winter, it consumes a lot of nutrients. Especially during the flowering period, there is almost no nutrients left. It is necessary to supplement nutrients in a timely and appropriate amount so that Clivia can grow better in spring.

Okay, do you know the most important points of spring maintenance?
