Taro is a kind of vegetable. The edible part is the underground rhizome of the plant and cannot be eaten raw directly. Taro usually matures in August and September in autumn and is often planted as a one-year crop.

Nutritional value of taro

Taro itself has no taste and has a very soft texture. It can usually be boiled and then peeled and eaten directly. It can also be roasted or steamed with pork ribs. Roasting is the most delicious way to eat it.

Taro contains many nutrients, among which the sticky protein has the effect of improving immunity. Taro contains relatively more alkaline substances, which can generally play a role in regulating the acid-base balance.
