What fertilizer is good for cucumbers?

When fertilizing cucumbers, the base fertilizer is mainly organic fertilizer. Straw bioreactor technology can be applied to effectively increase ground temperature, reduce disease occurrence, improve product quality, and increase yield. Ammonium nitrate and diammonium phosphate are used alternately.

For every acre of cucumber, 10,000 kg of fully decomposed organic fertilizer can be applied. The soil can be plowed 40 centimeters deep and mixed with the fertilizer. Fermented and rotten organic matter such as grass clippings, wheat straw, rice husks, etc. can also be applied.

Generally speaking, not a lot of fertilizer should be applied to cucumbers. During the peak growth period, fertilizer should be applied once or twice a month. In addition, the amount applied each time should not be too much, and nitrogen-containing fertilizers should not be used too frequently.

How to fertilize cucumbers

Key points of fertilization : When fertilizing cucumbers, mix the base fertilizer with the soil evenly. Organic fertilizer has a long fertilizer effect. It releases heat during the decomposition process, which increases the soil temperature and is beneficial to increasing the survival rate of cucumber seedlings.

Spring fertilization : Cucumbers are fertilized in spring from March to April. They like fertilizer, so applying enough base fertilizer will lay a good foundation for high yield and quality of cucumbers. The base fertilizer is mainly organic fertilizer, with some chemical fertilizers as appropriate. Generally, a large amount of organic fertilizer is required.

Summer fertilization : The summer fertilization time for cucumbers is around August. Fertilizers are generally a mixture of organic fertilizers and chemical fertilizers, human and animal feces, bean cake fertilizer, and balanced nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium nutrients. The amount of organic fertilizer is about 200-300 kilograms, and urea, potassium chloride, and superphosphate are appropriately matched.

Autumn fertilization : Cucumbers are fertilized in October, and the number of topdressing should be controlled at 4-6 times. Each time, human and animal feces, bean cake fertilizer, and organic fertilizer should be used in appropriate amounts. The amount of chemical fertilizer urea should be controlled at about 15 pounds, and the amount of diamine should be about 15 pounds.

Winter fertilization : Cucumbers should be fertilized in November. Appropriate foliar fertilizer should be sprayed, usually starting during the cucumber fruit growth period, to increase leaf photosynthesis and provide sufficient nutrients for cucumber growth.

Points to note when fertilizing cucumbers

1. When fertilizing cucumbers, due to excessive nutrient consumption in the early stage, trace elements and nitrogen fertilizers need to be supplemented in the later stage. When the plant growth is weak or the growth point is stagnant, the leaves should be sprayed with 800 times solution of Harvest No. 1 in time.

2. Prevent root burn caused by fertilizer : Do not use too much chemical fertilizer when fertilizing cucumbers. Too much fertilizer can easily burn the seedlings and is not conducive to the growth of cucumbers. Watering is required in time after fertilizing. Watering can allow the fertilizer to fully dissolve, facilitate root absorption, and improve the efficiency of fertilization.

3. Prevent yellowing leaves : When fertilizing cucumbers, it is recommended to use compound fertilizer together with organic fertilizer. Compound fertilizer supplements the nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium elements needed for plant growth, while organic fertilizer supplements organic matter, which can prevent yellowing leaves.
