What are the methods and precautions for breeding European moon

Introduction to Ouyue

European rose is a rose variety introduced from Western European countries, Japan, and the United States. It has diverse shapes and rich colors, and blooms continuously in spring, summer, and autumn.

The main varieties of European roses include L'Oréal, Beatrice, French Monet, Princess Margaret, Juliet, Keira and so on.

How to cultivate European moon

European roses like loose, fertile, well-drained, slightly acidic or neutral soil rich in organic matter. Not only does it have a long flowering period, but most varieties are also sun-resistant. Sufficient light is needed during the growth period so that the flowers can be bright.

If you want to grow European roses well, you need to choose loose, porous and fertile soil. You can mix it with garden soil, humus soil, etc. Fertilize once every 15 days during the growth period. Pinch and top the plant when it grows to 15-30 cm.

Watering method

European rose likes a humid environment, but cannot tolerate waterlogging. Each time you water it, the soil should be kept moist three centimeters below the surface. During the growth period, you can water it in small amounts and multiple times to prevent root rot. Control watering when the temperature drops in winter.

Fertilization method

The principle of fertilizing European roses is to apply fertilizer frequently, in small amounts, and in light amounts. For plants that are deficient in fertilizer, avoid applying too much, too concentrated, or too quickly. A thin liquid fertilizer can be applied once in March. April to June and September to October are the peak growth periods for roses, and a thin fertilizer can be applied once a week. During the differentiation of flower buds, increase the application of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, and you can use 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate for foliar spraying.

Pruning methods

European roses are generally pruned during the winter period from December to January, when the plants have completely entered a dormant period. The general principle of pruning is to cut off thin and weak branches, diseased and insect-infested branches, remove straight branches and keep slanted branches, comb out parallel branches, steep and long branches, and overly dense branches. Weak trees and weak branches should be pruned hard, and strong trees and strong branches should be pruned lightly.

Things to note when breeding European moon

1. Choose potting soil

When potting European roses, you can choose a clay pot with drainage holes at the bottom. The soil can be mixed with garden soil, garbage soil, and rice husk ash. The pot can be changed every two years, in the spring. As the European roses gradually grow, the potting container also needs to be replaced.

2. Temperature and light

European rose likes a warm environment, and the suitable growth temperature is between 18-20 degrees. It should be placed in a sunny place for cultivation. When the weather is hot in summer, it needs to be sprayed to cool down in time. When winter comes, the European rose not only needs sufficient light, but also the temperature needs to be above 5 degrees. This can extend the flowering period of the European rose and produce more flowers.

3. Prevent and control pests and diseases

If the European rose is not properly maintained, it will suffer from leaf spot disease, powdery mildew, aphids, leaf spikes, red spiders and other pests and diseases. It is necessary to take timely prevention and control measures and spray protective agents. If pests and diseases are found, they must be prevented and controlled in time to prevent the spread of the pathogens.
