How many seasons of loofah are planted in a year

There are two planting time periods for loofah. The first is in winter and spring, from November of each year to February of the following year. The summer planting time is from June to September. Try to avoid planting in seasons with severe high temperatures. This can greatly increase the germination rate of loofah and the growth rate will be faster.

Loofah planting conditions

1. Temperature

Luffa likes warmth but is not cold-resistant, so the temperature for growth needs to be relatively high. The seeds need to be above 20 degrees for germination and above 25 degrees during the vine period. Growth will be affected if the temperature is below 15 degrees, and the seedlings will die if the temperature is below 5 degrees.

2. Lighting

Luffa is relatively sensitive to changes in light, but it does not require a very long period of light exposure. It mainly grows in a short-day environment, but the light exposure time can be appropriately increased during flowering and fruiting.

Luffa harvest time

It takes 4 months for loofah to grow from seedling to flowering and fruiting . Most naturally grown loofahs are planted after the Qingming Festival. Its flowering period is around July, and the natural maturity season is in autumn.

In fact, it is available in the market in my country all year round. It can be planted in the south when the weather is cold, and in the north when the climate is suitable. The local loofah in Zhejiang can be eaten from May to October.
