Cauliflower's growing environment and local conditions

Cauliflower Growth Environment and Conditions

Cauliflower prefers a cool environment, is not resistant to high temperature and dry environment, and is also not resistant to frost. It has strict requirements on environmental conditions. Cauliflower was originally distributed along the Mediterranean coast, but now it can be grown in vegetable greenhouses throughout the country and is a vegetable that people like to eat.

Cauliflower Growing Conditions

Cauliflower has high requirements for the environment. It is not resistant to high temperature, dryness, and frost during the growth and development period of the flower head. It is suitable for growing in a warm, humid, and well-lit environment. If the temperature is low, it is necessary to take warming measures in advance, otherwise the head will be small and loose, the yield will be low, and the quality will be poor.

Cauliflower growth temperature

Cauliflower likes a humid environment and germinates quickly when the average daily temperature is between 15 and 18 degrees. The most suitable growth temperature is between 20 and 25 degrees, and the germination temperature is above 12 degrees.

The growth process of cauliflower

The growth process of cauliflower mainly includes the germination stage, budding and sprouting stage, flowering stage and maturity stage. Its growth starts from seeds. After the seeds germinate, they break through the soil, absorb nutrients and water, and grow more leaves. The leaves will slowly grow, and flower buds will sprout later. They can be harvested when they are mature.

Cauliflower planting time and method

1. Cauliflower is generally planted in spring. It is a plant that likes warmth and humidity, but has weak tolerance to drought and waterlogging. It has strict requirements on soil and humidity during the growing period. It is necessary to choose sandy soil with loose soil, sufficient nutrients, high terrain, and sufficient water and fertilizer.

2. The planting of cauliflower should be carried out on a cloudy day or in the evening. Apply about 2,800 kg of mature humus fertilizer and 60 kg of compound fertilizer per mu of land. After deep plowing, the land should be prepared into ridges with a width of about 1.3 meters, a ditch width of 35 cm, and a depth of 40 cm.

3. Prevent diseases and pests. There are many diseases and pests of cauliflower in early autumn, mainly cabbage loopers, black rot, aphids, and Spodoptera litura, which need to be captured in time or sprayed with pesticides for prevention and control.
