Zhulan's breeding methods and precautions

Zhulan's breeding methods and precautions

1. Maintenance methods

1. Flower pot: When choosing a flower pot, choose one that is deeper and has a smaller mouth so that the soil is easy to dry and well ventilated, making it easier for roots to grow. Also, you can change to a porcelain pot after planting for two or three years.

2. Water: It likes a shady and humid environment. The cultivation land should always be kept moist and watered in time when the weather is dry. During drought from July to September, water once in the morning and once in the evening. Zhulan is afraid of waterlogging. During the rainy season or after every heavy rain, the ditches should be dredged in time to remove excess water and avoid root rot.

3. Temperature: Zhulan is suitable for growing in a warm, cool and relatively humid environment. It is slightly cold-resistant, but the temperature cannot be below 5℃, otherwise it will affect its growth and survival rate. When the temperature is high in summer, cooling is also necessary.

4. Soil: When choosing soil, it is generally recommended to choose humus soil that has good water retention properties.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Division: Under natural conditions, the plant is divided into two parts. The old plant is dug up before the new leaves sprout in spring or after the aboveground part withers in autumn and winter. Just divide the pseudobulb and plant them separately. Each plant can be divided into 3-5 plants, and each plant must have a terminal bud.

2. Pruning: Use sterile scissors for pruning. Remove dead leaves and rotten roots, and be careful not to damage the young shoots. After pruning, place it in a cool and ventilated place. It can be planted after the roots turn white.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Root rot: When the roots of Zhulan are rotten, black spots and leaf rot will appear. This is mostly due to improper water supply, so be careful not to water at noon.

2. Yellowing leaves: Leaves tend to turn yellow during the hot and dry summer. Avoid direct sunlight as this will affect its growth and survival.

IV. Other issues

1. Whether it is raised indoors: It can be raised indoors, but the temperature should be well controlled, and attention should be paid to good ventilation and lighting.

2. Is it poisonous? Zhulan is non-toxic and is very suitable for planting at home. Looking at the flowers will make you happy.
