Carrot planting methods and steps

The planting method of carrots includes land preparation before sowing, seed treatment, shading, moisture retention, rain protection, weeding, appropriate topdressing, and prevention of diseases and insect pests after germination.

1. Land preparation before sowing: Land preparation is necessary in the early stage of carrot sowing. Generally, after raking the soil, the soil should be exposed to the sun for disinfection. After completing these steps, base fertilizer should be mixed in to provide the nutrients needed for growth.

2. Treatment of carrot seeds: Carrot seeds are prickly, so they need to be processed in advance to prevent them from not absorbing water and clumping together, which will affect sowing.

3. Shade, moisturize and protect from rain after germination: If there are climate changes such as heavy rain, strong light, etc. during the germination period of carrots, it will be not conducive to their germination, so you can lay straw on them to prevent these phenomena from happening, and keep the temperature between 20-25℃.

4. Weed removal: If the carrot seeds germinate very slowly, it may be that there are too many weeds and they have absorbed some of the nutrients, so weeding is urgent.

5. Appropriate topdressing: In addition to the base fertilizer in the soil, it is also necessary to apply appropriate topdressing several times to increase yield and marketability. Do not apply too much nitrogen fertilizer to avoid the phenomenon of only growing leaves. When applying fertilizer, it must be thin. Too much fertilizer will damage the roots.

6. Prevent and control the occurrence of diseases and pests: Compared with other vegetables, carrots have very few diseases and pests. As long as they are properly maintained and disinfection measures are taken in the necessary areas, the occurrence of diseases and pests will be greatly reduced.
