Cultivation methods and maintenance matters of old jasmine piles

Jasmine old pile cultivation method

1. Choose to dig up or buy old jasmine stumps that are healthy, normally developed, and free of diseases and insect pests. The roots of the selected old jasmine stumps can retain about 500 grams of original soil, and the branches should be pruned to a length of about 5 cm from the old roots. If the soil is too sticky, the roots must be washed very clean, and a relatively thick and long root should be sawed off and planted in the potting soil. New buds will soon grow.

2. Prepare the potting soil matrix. Mix red soil, mulberry branch and sugarcane pith mixture and charcoal powder in a weight ratio of 1:(2-3):1 and place it in a container for about 10 days as the cultivation matrix. It will be fermented.

3. From February to April in the Gregorian calendar, soak the roots of the selected old jasmine stumps in disinfected rooting liquid for 1 minute, then plant them in the cultivation medium in a container and place them outdoors. Shade them when the sun is strong. The depth of the topsoil and root system of the old jasmine stumps planted in the cultivation medium should be about 8 cm.

Pruning old jasmine

The branches of old jasmine stumps can be cut off in winter before they sprout in spring, leaving only 10-15 cm at the base. When the plant height reaches 10 cm, it can be topped to promote the growth of side branches, so that there will be more flower branches and the number of flowers will increase.

Jasmine old stump pot

When potting old jasmine stumps, clay pots are generally chosen. They have good drainage and air permeability, which is very beneficial to the development and growth of the root system and can enable them to grow vigorously.

Jasmine old stump sprouts

If the old jasmine stump has enough leaves, it can carry out photosynthesis and synthesize more nutrients. In this way, the growth of the old jasmine stump will gradually improve and it will sprout in about a month.

Precautions for maintenance of old jasmine piles

After the old jasmine stump is planted, new buds will gradually grow. It is necessary to control watering and keep the soil dry, but not too dry. Determine whether to water it based on the situation. In the spring of the following year, you can prune it once after buds appear. After the branches are firm, you can continue pruning to help expand the crown.
