Durian growing conditions and characteristics

Durian Growth Conditions

Durian is a tropical fruit that is more suitable for growing in a hot and humid environment. It has relatively high temperature requirements during its growth period. Generally, durian is mainly produced in Guangdong, Hainan and Yunnan in China, and is more grown in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.

The most suitable growth temperature for durian is above 22 degrees. Durian is not cold-resistant and is afraid of freezing. Generally, when the ambient temperature is lower than 15 degrees, its growth will slow down, and it will be difficult to bloom and bear fruit in the later stage.

Durian growth period and process

Durian generally grows in tropical areas and grows better in places with high temperatures all year round. Durian generally starts to grow in spring and matures in June and July in summer because durian receives more light in this season.

During its entire growth cycle, durian will go through the stages of germination, flowering and fruiting. The growth cycle of durian is relatively long. It usually blooms and bears fruit after a few years of planting and maintenance. The quality of the fruit will not be very good in the first year, but after a few years of maintenance, the fruit will enter its peak fruiting period.

Durian planting process and methods

1. Seed treatment: Soak the full and intact durian seeds in clean water, then wash them and grind the edges of the seed shell to facilitate germination.

2. Prepare the soil: Choose loose, porous, fertile, slightly acidic soil for planting. Do not use alkaline soil for planting.

3. Planting: Plant the processed seeds in the soil. After the seedlings grow, it is necessary to apply organic fertilizer to supplement nutrients.
