1. Different flowering periods

Generally speaking, the blooming time of Magnolia grandiflora is a little earlier than that of Magnolia grandiflora, which is about five or six days earlier. Magnolia grandiflora blooms 5 to 6 days earlier than Magnolia grandiflora. Under normal circumstances, the flowering time of Magnolia denudata is in March. When its flowers gradually fade, the magnolia just begins to bloom. So it can be seen that their flowering time is completely one after the other.

2. The sizes of flowers are different

Anyone who has seen them bloom knows that the flowers of Magnolia grandiflora are slightly smaller than those of Magnolia. According to information, the flowers of Magnolia grandiflora are about 6 to 8 centimeters in diameter, while the flowers of Magnolia grandiflora are about 10 to 16 centimeters. In comparison, the flowers of the two are twice as large. So their flowers are different in size.

3. Different tepals

If you look closely, you can see that Magnolia denudata has 9 tepals, which are then divided into 3 whorls. The tepals in the outermost whorl will become very small later. Although Magnolia denudata also has 9 tepals, which are divided into three whorls, the lengths of its 9 tepals are basically the same. In addition, the colors of their tepals are also different. The outside of Magnolia denudata's tepals has a hint of purple, while the outside of Magnolia denudata's tepals has a hint of red. Some varieties are even completely white. So from this point of view, there are also great differences between them in the tepals.

4. The shape of the leaves is different

If you look closely, the front of the leaves of Magnolia grandiflora are pointed, while the front of the leaves of Magnolia grandiflora are round and sometimes a little concave. In addition, the number of leaf veins between them is also different. The leaf veins of Magnolia grandiflora have 10 to 15 lateral veins, while the leaf veins of Magnolia grandiflora have only 8 to 10 veins, and its network veins look more obvious. In comparison, there are also significant differences between their leaves.
