Soybeans can be sown in spring and summer. In spring, they can be sown around the Qingming Festival, and in summer, they can be sown after the wheat harvest, which is from May to June. The summer-sown soybeans in the Huanghuaihai area and the spring-sown soybeans in the Northeast are the regions with the highest yield and the largest planting area in China.

Soybean sowing method

Before planting soybeans, you need to choose seeds with full grains and no insects. They also need to be exposed to the sun. Only dry seeds can germinate. Before sowing, the seeds need to be mixed with rhizobia to facilitate germination. Prepare loose soil, sow the seeds evenly, and finally cover them with soil.

Soybean planting tips

Soybeans need to be watered in time during the growth period to maintain the moist state of the soil. Remember not to allow water to accumulate. In addition, the soil must have good drainage, which can also reduce the occurrence of water accumulation. Top dressing should be done in time throughout the development stage. This is the key to increasing production. If diseases and pests occur, spray pesticides in time for prevention and control.

Soybean harvest

Generally speaking, soybeans will enter the harvest period from September to October. They can be picked when the stems and leaves of soybeans turn yellow, and the stalks and pods become shriveled and dark brown. It is generally best to harvest them in the morning when there is dew. After harvesting, the soybeans should be transported back in time for threshing and stored in granaries.

If soybeans are properly maintained, the yield per mu is 400-500 kilograms, while ordinary fields only produce more than 300 kilograms. If they are not managed properly or due to weather reasons, the yield may be only more than 200 kilograms.
