Cutting method of Kalanchoe

Cutting method of Kalanchoe

1. Cutting cuttings

Select a pot of healthy Kalanchoe, cut the branches at the top of the plant, make sure each branch has at least 2 pairs of leaves, cut the upper incision flat, and cut the lower incision at a 45° angle, then remove the bottom pair of leaves and place in a cool and ventilated place to dry the wound.

2. Prepare the soil

Prepare disposable plastic cups or plastic bottles, find a screwdriver and heat it with a lighter, then use the hot screwdriver to burn several holes in the bottom of the plastic cup to allow drainage and ventilation, then fill the cup with clean river sand and wet the river sand with a spray bottle.

3. Start cuttings

Use chopsticks to poke a hole in the middle of the river sand in the cup, insert the dried Kalanchoe branch vertically into the hole, and then gently compact the river sand around the branch to ensure that the branch and the river sand are in full contact and will not fall over.

4. Astigmatism maintenance

Place the Kalanchoe cuttings one by one in a tray, keep the tray filled with water at all times, and then place the Kalanchoe in a well-lit and ventilated place. The Kalanchoe will take root in about a week.

5. Transplanting and transplanting

The Kalanchoe cuttings taken root quickly using river sand, but river sand has no nutrients. After the Kalanchoe flowers take root, the plants need to be transplanted into peat soil, and disposable plastic cups can be used as flower pots.

6. Transplanting and Planting

After the roots of the Kalanchoe have grown all over the plastic cup, take the plant out of the cup and transplant it into a large flowerpot with the soil. Water it thoroughly and place it in a well-ventilated place with diffuse light to allow the seedlings to grow slowly. After a week, you can carry out normal maintenance.
