Can lilies be grown in the north?

Lilies can be planted in the north. Lilies generally prefer to grow in a warm environment. The climate in the north is relatively cold in winter, so when planting lilies, it is best to plant them in a sunny position and not in a position facing a vent.

Lilies prefer a cool environment and have a certain degree of cold resistance. Their growth will be affected in high temperature areas. They are not moisture-tolerant and are a short-day plant. They are currently planted in Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan and other places in my country. They are a very good ornamental flower. When planting, be careful not to plant them in succession and do not plant them in places with stagnant water.

How to grow lilies in the north

1. Humidity: Lilies are not tolerant to moisture, but the soil must be kept moist during planting. During later maintenance, care must be taken not to overwater.

2. Temperature: Lilies prefer a warm environment. When they are first planted, it is more suitable to germinate and root in a low temperature environment of 9-13 degrees. After the seedlings grow, the temperature can be appropriately increased.

3. Soil: Lilies have relatively high requirements for soil when planted. Generally, deep, fertile, loose and well-drained loam or sandy loam is beneficial to the growth of lilies.

4. Fertilization: Lily needs base fertilizer when it is first planted. It will consume some nutrients during growth. It is necessary to apply organic fertilizer or decomposed cake fertilizer once a month after planting to supplement nutrients.
