Can ginseng be grown in the south?

Ginseng cannot be grown in the south because ginseng mostly grows in the northeast region, and grows more in cold mountainous areas. It requires a certain low temperature environment and appropriate cold requirements for growth, and it is difficult for the southern region to meet these conditions, so it is not suitable to grow ginseng in the south.

Ginseng prefers to grow in a cool environment and has high requirements for soil. It grows well in places with snow. It is generally planted more in the three northeastern provinces, and in the south it is only distributed in small quantities in the Shennongjia area.

Southern Ginseng Planting Technology

1. Planting time: Ginseng is generally best planted in spring and autumn, and the survival rate will be higher in spring.

2. Seed treatment: Select ginseng seeds with strong disease resistance, then soak them in potassium permanganate for 1 or 2 days, then take them out and dry them for later use.

3. Planting soil: It is better to use humus soil rich in phosphorus and potassium when planting ginseng. The soil should be slightly acidic.

4. Planting temperature: After ginseng is planted, it is best to maintain the environmental temperature at around 20-25 degrees before germination. During this period, pay attention to watering.
