How long is the growth cycle of lily?

Introduction to Lily Growth

Lilies like to grow in moist and sunny places. The soil should be deep, fertile, well-drained sandy soil, and slightly acidic to neutral. Lilies are mainly produced in Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Taiwan and other places in my country.

Lily growth cycle

The growth characteristics of lily are mainly that it likes a cool and humid environment and plenty of sunlight, but it should avoid drought and extreme heat during the growth process, otherwise it will grow poorly. The growth cycle of lily is one year.

Lily growth rate

The growth cycle of lily is mainly divided into four stages: the seedling stage from emergence to bulbil differentiation, the bulbil stage from the beginning of bulbil differentiation to bulbil maturity, the budding stage from budding to the end of flowering, and the withering stage when the leaves attached to the aboveground stems begin to wither.

Lilies grow relatively fast. They are seedlings from mid-to-late March to early to mid-May, they are bulbil stages from early to mid-May to mid-to-late June, they begin to mature in mid-July, and they enter the withering stage in late July.

Lily growth cycle management

The characteristic of lily during its growth cycle is that sufficient light is needed for the development of flower buds. If there is insufficient light, the plant will grow poorly and cause the lily buds to fall off, the leaf and flower colors will become lighter, and the growth and development of the flowers will be affected.

Temperature Management

During the growth cycle of lilies, the suitable temperature for growth and flowering is 16-24℃, so the temperature of its growth environment needs to be controlled within an appropriate range. The temperature in winter cannot be lower than 5℃, and the plant needs to be kept above 10℃ to grow normally.

Fertilization management

Lilies need timely and appropriate fertilization during their growth cycle. During the growth period, synthetic fertilizer or urea can be applied every 15 days. Synthetic fertilizer should be applied once in February and March and after flowering. After flowering, nutrient liquid fertilizer can be applied thinly twice a month to promote the growth of new underground bulbs.
