How to grow nectarines in pots

How to grow nectarines in pots

Pot soil

It is best to choose a clay pot with good air permeability for the flowers. Although it is not as beautiful as other pots, it is more practical. Or you can also choose a porcelain pot outside. As for the soil, you can use 2 parts of garden soil, 2 parts of decomposed farmyard manure and 1 part of river sand.

Basin

It is best to pot the plant between the Spring Equinox and Qingming Festival. After plugging the holes with tiles, fill 1/3 of the pot with soil and press it down. Trim the roots of the saplings to be planted appropriately, place them upright in the pot, stretch out the roots and put them into the soil until they are about three centimeters away from the mouth of the pot and press them down. After watering is sufficient, water frequently, but don't water too much.

prune

During the growth period of nectarines, they should be pruned regularly, and young branches should be topped frequently to promote the formation of short branches. When pruning in the spring of the second year, some of the extended branches should also be pinched off. Allow the plants to have better light and ventilation.

Water and fertilizer

During the seedling stage of nectarine, the use of nitrogen fertilizer needs to be moderately controlled, and when a large number of fruits are produced, the amount can be increased appropriately. For nectarines that are one to three years old, half a pound of cake fertilizer can be used per year. During the growing period of nectarine, fertilize frequently, use a small amount each time, and ensure that the soil in the pot can always be slightly moist. Generally, use decomposed thin cake fertilizer water once every half a month or 20 days. You can also use some 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate or urea water. In winter, you can water less or not at all.
