Introduction to Pueraria root growth

Pueraria root is distributed in many areas of my country, but it is widely distributed in the southern region. It is planted on a large scale in Chongqing, Sichuan, Fujian, Nanjing and other regions of my country. The Qinhuai area is mainly composed of loess and red soil. The Pueraria root in this area is not only large, but also has a particularly high nutritional value. You can buy it in moderation for consumption.

The flowering period of Pueraria root is from May to September, and the fruiting period is from August to October. It grows in relatively shady and moist places in hillside grass, roadsides, and sparse woods. Pueraria root is not very demanding on the climate and has strong adaptability, but it is more demanding on the soil. It can only grow well in sandy loam with deep soil layer, loose, fertile, and good drainage.

Pueraria root is a perennial vine that takes at least 10 months to be edible. It is best to sow wild Pueraria root seeds in spring. After sowing the seeds, wait until the seedlings grow tall and then apply fertilizer to promote seedling growth. When it enters the spring period, add decomposed organic farmyard manure to the Pueraria root.

Management of Pueraria root growth cycle

The yield of Pueraria root is related to the planting year. For example, the normal yield of Pueraria root per mu in the first year is about 2,000 jin. After the second year, the normal yield of Pueraria root per mu is between 5,000 and 8,000 jin.

Temperature management : The average annual temperature in the main Pueraria production areas is between 21.1-21.5℃, the average temperature in January is 9-12.2℃, the extreme low temperature is -18-0℃, and the average temperature in July is 28-33.3℃.

Fertilization management : During the growth of Pueraria root, some fertilizer should be applied to the leaves reasonably, because there are many nutrients in its leaves, which can provide Pueraria root with the nutrients needed for growth.
