How long is the growth cycle of black beans?

Black Bean Growth Introduction

Black bean is an annual herb originating from Asia. It is widely eaten in Myanmar, India and Pakistan. It is suitable for growing in dry and hot climate conditions.

Black bean growth cycle

The summer sowing growing period of black beans is 90-100 days. It requires more water for growth. The least water is needed during the growth period. There must also be enough water during the flowering and podding period, otherwise it is easy to grow poorly.

Black bean growth rate

When black beans germinate, the seeds will swell when exposed to water, and the cotyledons will break through the seed coat. After about 3-5 days, the radicle will emerge from the cracks and grow longer and longer. After about 10 days, the cotyledons will separate from the seed coat and gradually grow true leaves, and its root system will also become longer and stronger.

Black bean growth cycle management

Under conditions of moderate water and fertilizer and high-quality black beans, 400 kilograms of black beans can be harvested per mu, and the maximum yield is about 600 kilograms per mu.

Temperature management : Black beans prefer a warm growing environment. They need to germinate at above 18 degrees Celsius. The seedlings grow fast at a temperature between 20-24 degrees Celsius. The most suitable temperature after the seedling stage is between 24-26 degrees Celsius. The flowering period cannot exceed 30 degrees Celsius, and it is best to be between 25 degrees Celsius. Temperatures above 35 degrees will affect growth.

Fertilization management : Black beans need sufficient seed fertilizer for nutritional growth in the early growth stage, and their nutrient needs must also be met before flowering to achieve early germination and strong seedlings. For plots of general fertility, 45-75kg of urea should be applied per hectare in the initial flowering stage. It can absorb nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and trace elements.
