How to transplant water lily

Bowl lotus propagation

To cultivate bowl lotus, you need to sow seeds. First, choose healthy seeds, grind the concave edges but do not damage the seeds, and then plant them. Bowl lotus generally takes root in spring, and transplanting at this time is the best, with a high survival rate and it is not easy to die.

How to transplant lotus

Soak the lotus seeds in a sunny place, change the water once or twice a day, and they will germinate in 3-10 days. After germination, soak them in a pot of soil. When the lotus reaches a diameter of more than ten centimeters, just press the roots (lotus seeds) of the lotus into the soil.

Transplantation of lotus

Around the Qingming Festival, select strong roots for lotus, cut them into segments every 2-3 nodes, each segment must have a terminal bud and a tail segment, and plant them in separate pots. At this time, special attention should be paid to prevent windstorms. If the leaves are blown away by the wind, the lotus roots will be stunted and affect flowering next year.

Repotting and transplanting lotus

Bowl lotus is often cultivated in small colorful pots such as exquisite bowls and pots. Whether it is a bowl or a large bowl with a diameter of about 25cm and a depth of more than 20cm, it must be used. Plant the top bud of the bowl lotus in a pot.

Transplanting of hydroponic lotus

Bowl lotus can be grown in water, but the nutrient content in the water is not high, so additional nutrient solution or nutrient solution supplementation is required.

Transplanting of Soil-grown Lotus

1. Seed processing : The lotus seed shell is relatively hard. If it is completely broken, the success rate of germination will be relatively low, so the seeds need to be processed manually.

2. Awakening : The method of awakening lotus seeds is very simple. You can soak them in warm water. They will absorb water by themselves and then slowly germinate. The water temperature should not be too low or too high, generally it can be 10-15℃.

3. Planting : After taking out the germinated seeds of the water lily, you can plant them directly without air-drying. Just water them more.

Things to note when transplanting lotus

After the lotus is transplanted into the soil, do not add too much water at once. Add a little water at first to ensure that all the floating leaves float on the water surface. Do not let the floating leaves lie under the water surface. Do not prune it first, and then prune it appropriately after the roots grow.
