Can Fuchsia be hydroponically cultivated?

Fuchsia is also known as lantern flower. It is a plant of the Myrtales family, Onagraceae, and is often used as an embellishment for guest rooms and desks. People often think that it can only be grown in soil, but in fact it can be grown in water. As long as the water culture is done properly, Fuchsia can even grow better than those grown in soil and have more ornamental value.

Hydroponic cultivation method of fuchsia

1. First, choose the relatively tender and strong branches of the fuchsia, trim the leaves on the lower half, and only keep the pair of leaves at the top.

2. The branches should be cut obliquely with sterilized scissors, and make sure the cut is smooth. If you want to grow a few more plants for hydroponics, you can use a square glass container, place foam in it and poke a few small holes so that the branches can just fit in.

3. The water in the glass container should cover one-third of its length. Not too much water is needed, and the water should be kept clean. It is best to cover the roots, so that shading is beneficial to the growth of the fuchsia.

Precautions for growing fuchsia in water

1. For hydroponic fuchsia, change the water once a week. When the temperature is relatively high, change the water more often. It is best to expose it to the sun for a while before changing the water, so that the temperature will be similar to that of indoors.

2. In order to promote the growth and development of water-grown fuchsia, some nutrient solution can be used to promote growth.

3. Water-grown fuchsia needs to carry out photosynthesis, so it is best to place it in a balcony with scattered light. It is also better to place it in a bright and ventilated place.
