Wutacai is a common vegetable. Its seeds grow inside its fruit. The silique of the plant is oblong, and the seeds grow inside it. They are about one millimeter in diameter and dark brown in color. They can be harvested long after the fruit is ripe.

After removing the seed coat of the black lettuce, you can get the seeds. Then you need to select the seeds that are full and not shriveled, soak them in clean water for about an hour, and then place them in an environment with suitable temperature.

Wutacai is generally propagated by seeds. The plant has strong adaptability to the environment. The most suitable growth temperature is around 10-25℃. It can be planted all year round, but the yield will be better if it is planted in November. It will germinate 4-5 days after planting, and the whole growth period is about 70-80 days.

1. Choose the soil

Before planting Wutacai, you need to choose loose, fertile, well-drained, and water- and fertilizer-retaining soil, and apply an appropriate amount of organic fertilizer to it. Such soil is more suitable for plant growth.

2. Sowing

Before sowing the black lettuce, the soil needs to be soaked with water, and then sown by broadcasting. Cover the seeds with a layer of fine soil and do not let them be exposed to the outside. In the later stage, just pay attention to watering and exposure to light.
