Upland rice can be planted in spring and summer. Generally, if it is planted in spring, it can be done in April or May. If it is planted in summer, it is best to plant it before mid-June. It is not suitable to plant it in autumn and winter, as upland rice cannot grow normally.

1. Land preparation and fertilization

When planting upland rice, you can renovate the soil to make it loose and breathable, which is conducive to the growth of upland rice. Upland rice has a greater demand for nutrients during its growth period, so before planting, you can apply an appropriate amount of base fertilizer to the soil to increase the nutrients in the soil and promote the vigorous growth of upland rice.

2. Planting method

Before sowing upland rice, the rice seeds can be exposed to the sun for 1 to 2 days and then sown. Generally, row sowing or hole sowing can be used. 3-5 kilograms can be sown per acre. After sowing, cover with a thin layer of soil with a thickness of 2 to 3 cm. The soil also needs to be kept slightly moist so that it will germinate soon.

Precautions for planting upland rice

After planting dry rice, maintenance and management need to be strengthened. If seedlings are missing, they must be replenished in time, and appropriate thinning should be done. During this period, attention should be paid to regular weeding. During the maintenance process, if drought occurs, it is necessary to replenish water in time. Thin fertilizers need to be applied regularly during the growth period of dry rice.
