Time and method of cuttings of tuberose

Tuberose cutting time

Tuberose prefers a warm environment, and its suitable rooting temperature is between 20-24 degrees. Therefore, it is best to carry out cuttings from April to June or around September. These two time periods are also its peak growth seasons, with strong germination ability and a higher survival rate.

Tuberose cutting method

1. Processing cuttings

Choose branches from the mother plant that are free of pests and diseases, strong, and grown in the current year. The bud tips on the branches should be full and cut into small sections of 8-12 cm. The incision at the bottom should be smooth. Keep the top 2-3 leaves and cut off the rest to reduce water consumption.

2. Prepare the substrate

Tuberose does not have high requirements for the substrate for cuttings, but it is best to have a breathable, loose and acidic soil. The cuttings can take root faster in such a soil environment. It is recommended to mix leaf mold, sandy soil and garden soil, and make sure to disinfect it before use.

3. Insert the seeds into the soil

After preparing the substrate, you can insert it into the soil. Control the depth when inserting it. Don't insert it too deep. About three centimeters will be enough. After insertion, compact the soil around the cuttings appropriately and water it thoroughly in time.

Maintenance of Tuberose after Cutting

After the night-blooming jasmine is cut, it is best to control the ambient temperature between 20-24 degrees and the humidity between 80%-90%. Water and spray frequently to maintain a moist environment. In addition, it is also important to note that it should not be exposed to direct sunlight at this time. It is best to place it in a ventilated and dark place. It will soon take root and survive.
