Meat breeding methodSucculents are also called fleshy plants. Their leaves are thick and juicy and can store a lot of water. Succulents are easy to reproduce and have strong reproductive ability. The main reproduction methods include grafting, cuttings, sowing, root cuttings, division, leaf cuttings, and cutting growth points. The cultivation methods of succulents need to start from the following aspects: 1. Flower soil Succulents like flower soil that is rich in nutrients and has good permeability. Generally, you can mix garden soil, leaf mold, and river sand. You can also prepare suitable soil according to its variety, but you must not use heavy soil, otherwise it will affect the growth of its root system. 2. Watering Because there are many varieties of succulents, some hibernate in summer and some hibernate in winter. They need to be watered according to their growth habits. You can water them more during the growing period and try to water them as little as possible during the dormant period. When watering succulents, pour water along the edge of the pot to avoid water dripping onto the leaves. Try to avoid water flowing into the center of the leaves and forming water accumulation. Generally, water them once a week. Insert a toothpick into the soil and pull it out when watering to check whether it is dry or wet. 3. Temperature Generally speaking, the best growth temperature for succulents is 15-28℃. Some varieties prefer a warm environment and need to take measures to keep warm in winter, while some varieties prefer a cool environment and need shade in summer and timely water spraying to cool down. 4. Fertilization When repotting succulents, you can apply some base fertilizer. You can choose compound fertilizer during the growth period. It is more appropriate to apply top dressing once a month or so. The fertilizer should be diluted with water before use, and the concentration should be reduced before applying. Solid fertilizer can be directly mixed into the soil. 5. Pruning Succulents need to be topped in time to generate more branches and make the plant shorter and more compact. They can also be cut off 10-20 cm from the bottom of the trunk. During the growth period, the too dense forked branches should be trimmed, and the overgrown branches and diseased branches should also be trimmed. When repotting or transplanting, the roots that are too long, rotten, and old should be slightly trimmed. Precautions for meat breedingWhen preparing the soil for succulents, in addition to the basic requirements, you should also pay attention to the combination of organic and inorganic materials. You can choose a purple clay pot as the flower pot. Observe the state of the plant and the soil and decide whether to water it accordingly. In addition, provide sufficient light. If this cannot be provided, fluorescent lamps can be used instead. |
