How to plant green vegetables and when to plant them What should be paid attention to during management

Suitable time for planting green vegetables

Green vegetables grow faster when sown in warm seasons. It is best to control the ambient temperature between 20-25℃. If the temperature is too low, it will germinate more slowly. Therefore, the best planting time is around March in spring, and it can also be planted in September-October in autumn.

Green vegetable planting methods and key points

1. Land preparation and fertilization

Green vegetables are suitable for planting in loose, fertile and well-drained soil. Before planting, the land needs to be deep plowed, and then 50 kg of vegetable-specific compound fertilizer is applied per acre as base fertilizer, and trenches are dug to make ridges. The width of the ridge can be 2.5 meters.

2. Seeding and planting

Green vegetables are generally planted by sowing. First, water the soil thoroughly, then mix the seeds and fine sand evenly and spread them on the soil, and finally cover them with a thin layer of soil. You can also use the spot sowing method, with a spacing of 3-5 cm, and 2-3 seeds sown in each hole. They will germinate in about 3-4 days after sowing.

Key points for green vegetable management

1. Control moisture: After the green vegetables emerge, we must control watering. Generally speaking, green vegetables come out in hotter seasons, so we should water them in time, avoid watering at noon and at night, and follow the principle of watering when the soil is dry to keep the soil moist and control it in real time.

2. Fertilizer control: Green vegetables have a relatively large demand for nutrients after they emerge, and need to be fertilized with thin layers of fertilizer frequently to provide sufficient nutrients for their vigorous growth. Generally speaking, you can use decomposed cake fertilizer or liquid fertilizer. Dilute it with water before use to avoid applying concentrated fertilizer or raw fertilizer.

3. Pest control: After the green vegetables emerge, they will begin to be disturbed by pests and diseases, which will affect their growth rate. Sufficient medicine should be prepared in advance. Once pests and diseases are found, they must be sprayed in time to prevent losses and allow the green vegetables to grow healthily.
