The growing environment and local conditions of Photinia

Heather Growth Environment and Conditions

Photinia is generally distributed in areas with an altitude of 1000-2500 meters. It is distributed in China, Japan, Indonesia, and both the north and south of China.

Heather Growing Conditions

Photinia prefers an environment with plenty of sunlight and is slightly shade-tolerant. It is not very demanding on the soil, but is suitable for planting in fertile, moist, deep, well-drained, slightly acidic sandy soil. It has a certain resistance to low temperatures and can withstand short periods of temperatures of minus 15 degrees Celsius. It can overwinter in the open in Jiaozuo, Henan, Xi'an, Shaanxi, and Shandong in China.

Heather Growth Temperature

Photinia likes a warm and humid environment and is very cold-resistant. It can withstand temperatures as low as minus 18 degrees Celsius. The best temperature is controlled at around 15-30 degrees Celsius.

The growth process of heather

The growth process of Photinia mainly includes the germination period, leaf expansion period, flowering period and fruiting period. After the new buds sprout, the radicle first penetrates into the soil to form the main root, and then leaves grow. After a certain period of nutritional growth, flower buds will grow, and some fruits will be formed after flowering.

Heather planting time and method

The suitable time for planting Photinia is generally March to April in spring. In addition, September in autumn is suitable for reproduction by pressing branches. The seeds should be treated with germination in advance and then sown in loose and moist soil. Keep the soil moist and maintain it in a well-ventilated semi-shaded place. They will germinate soon.
