How many times can cucumbers be planted in a year and how long is the planting cycle?

Cucumbers can be planted three times a year , in spring, summer and autumn. Because cucumbers are fast-growing plants, it only takes 50 days from planting to harvesting.

Therefore, the first planting needs to be carried out in March-April every spring, the second planting needs to be carried out in June-July every autumn, and the third planting needs to be carried out in September-October every autumn.

Cucumber Growing Conditions

Cucumbers have a high demand for light, so the light exposure time when planting cucumbers should be kept at about 11 hours. Adequate light is beneficial to increasing the flowering rate of cucumbers. However, if cucumbers grow in cloudy and less sunny weather for a long time, they are prone to adverse phenomena such as melon rot.

Cucumbers are suitable for growing in a warm environment. The temperature suitable for cucumbers is about 20 degrees. Cucumbers will stop growing when the temperature is too low. However, the temperature will also change during the different growth periods of cucumbers. Therefore, we must control the planting temperature according to weather changes and the growth period of cucumbers.

Cucumber harvest time

The specific time of cucumber maturity depends on when the cucumber is planted. If the cucumber is planted in spring, it will mature around April or May and is called spring cucumber.

If you choose to plant cucumbers in autumn, they will mature in September and October. This kind of cucumber is called autumn cucumber. Different varieties of cucumbers have different time to market, but usually cucumbers are on the market in summer.
