How to make Kirin Palm alive by cuttings? Cutting methods and precautions

Kylin palm can be propagated by sowing and cuttings. Cuttings can save seeds, grow fast, and have a very high survival rate. It is a more common propagation method for Jade Kylin.

Kirin Palm cutting time

You need to choose the right time for cuttings of Euphorbia tridentata. You can choose to do it around May or June . The ambient temperature is suitable at this time, and Euphorbia tridentata gradually enters the growth period. The survival rate of cuttings is relatively high. If the ambient temperature is too high, the wound part of the Euphorbia tridentata cuttings will easily rot due to the high temperature.

Kirin palm cutting method

1. Cutting medium

Euphorbia tridentata prefers fertile and well-drained sandy soil. When cutting, you should choose soil with high organic matter content. The soil has high nutrient content and good drainage, which is more suitable for the rooting and germination of Euphorbia tridentata. The soil should be disinfected before cutting to avoid bacterial growth.

2. Insert processing

When cutting the Euphorbia pulcherrima, you should choose thick cuttings, trim them with a sterilized knife, and place them in a cool environment. Wait until the wound of the Euphorbia pulcherrima is dry before cutting. You can apply a small amount of plant ash to the wound of the Euphorbia pulcherrima to prevent the wound from infection and rot.

3. Cutting method

Prepare a suitable ceramic or clay pot, put a tile at the bottom, fill it with culture soil, insert the jade unicorn inserts into the soil, do not water it first, wait 2-3 days, then use a spray bottle to spray water into the pot to keep the soil moist.

Rooting of Kirin Palm Cuttings

After the cuttings of the Euphorbia tridentata are completed, they should be placed in a shaded place for maintenance, and the temperature should be controlled at 22-28℃, so that they can take root faster. When the soil is dry, water it appropriately to keep the soil moist. Remember not to allow water to accumulate. It usually takes 40-50 days for the cuttings to take root after planting.
