The correct method and precautions for hydroponics of cat grass. Can it be grown hydroponically?

Cat grass can be grown hydroponically. To grow cat grass hydroponically, you first need to soak it to germinate it, then select a few plump cat grass seeds and soak them in clean water for about 8 hours. The soaking time can be shortened appropriately in summer, and the germination time needs to be extended in winter.

Cat grass hydroponic method

1. Soaking and germination

Hydroponic cat grass needs to be soaked to germinate first. Choose a few plump ones and soak them in clean water for about 8 hours. The soaking time can be shortened appropriately in summer and extended in winter.

2. Lay absorbent paper

After soaking, place the prepared seedling tray on absorbent paper and wet it with water. Then, spread the soaked seeds on it, and in about three days, tender green sprouts will grow.

3. Moisturizing

Cover the lid and poke a hole here to allow ventilation. You can also leave the lid off, but be careful to prevent cats from eating it.

4. Wait

We then placed the seeds in a cool place and kept the paper towels moist, and this is what the seeds looked like on the first day (there were already some white sprouts).

5. Germination

Remove the slightly sprouted seeds, then put torn toilet paper on the fast food box, and then evenly spread the wheat kernels that already have some small sprouts on it.

After paving is completed, cover it with tissue paper and pour in clean water to wet all the tissue paper. Do this 1-2 times a day and it will be ready for picking in 6-10 days.

Precautions for cat grass hydroponics

1. Temperature

For hydroponic cat grass, the temperature should be kept at around 25℃ and best at 25-30℃. Cat grass can grow to 5-8CM within a week. If the temperature is too low, it will take a longer time. When the cat grass grows to about 7CM, the leaves are tender and very suitable for the cat's stomach.

2. Lighting

After the seedlings grow out, you can put the seedling tray in a place with sufficient light to facilitate photosynthesis, but be careful to avoid long-term exposure to the sun. When they grow to about 10 cm, they can be eaten by cats.

3. Humidity

Before the seedlings grow roots, the humidity should be kept above 85%. After germination, they need light, which should not be too strong, but scattered light. After that, the humidity is controlled at around 60%. Since it is hydroponic, it can fully absorb the moisture of the root system and reduce the moisture after spraying.
