Farming methods and precautions of horsetail

Equisetum is very easy to grow, and the most common places to grow it are moist riverbeds and field edges. They like to live in moist soil and are evergreen all year round. They are particularly prominent in the winter, standing out from the crowd and are highly ornamental.

How to cultivate horsetail

1. Lighting

When cultivating horsetail, the daily lighting time only needs to be controlled at more than 4 hours. It has very strong vitality and is not afraid of direct sunlight, so there is no need for sun protection even in the hot summer.

2. Watering

In spring and autumn, horsetail will continuously sprout side shoots from the roots. Once these side shoots grow up, they become horsetail grass. During this period, the demand for water and nutrients increases relatively. It is necessary to increase the amount and frequency of watering. Water when the soil is dry. After watering, it must be placed in a shady place with good ventilation.

3. Topdressing

When cultivating horsetail, the demand for nutrients is relatively small. It is sufficient to add nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer once a month. The granular fertilizer should be buried close to the flowerpot, and then the plant's growth needs can be met with sufficient watering.

Horsetail care precautions

When caring for horsetail, you need to pay attention to regular watering. Horsetail prefers moist soil, and when caring for it, you need to place it in a semi-shaded or relatively bright environment so that it can grow normally. At the same time, you must pay attention to regular watering during the growing season.
