How to propagate green radish with cuttings and precautions How to propagate green radish with cuttings and high survival rate

The green radish grows all year round, so relatively speaking, the green radish can be propagated all year round, but it is best to do it from April to August, because this is the period when the green radish grows most vigorously. Since the temperature in winter is lower than 15℃, it will affect its growth activity, so it is not recommended to do it at this time.

Time for cuttings of green radish

The time for cuttings of green radish is in spring and autumn every year , specifically from April to August . This is the period of its vigorous growth, the climate is mild and suitable, it is easy to survive after cuttings, and the survival rate is improved. The surrounding environment is humid, which is conducive to promoting the growth and development of its roots.

How to propagate Pothos from cuttings

Soil culture cutting method

1. Choose potting soil

Before cutting the green radish, you need to choose a soil pot with good air permeability to provide space for its roots to grow. Use loose, fertile, well-drained and air-permeable acidic soil, mix humus soil, garden soil and sandy soil in a 1:1:1 ratio, and add a small amount of perlite and vermiculite to ensure that the soil has sufficient nutrients.

2. Cutting branches

Choose a strong and robust branch of green radish, cut it off from the mother plant, and keep one leaf and one bud. After processing, insert it into the prepared soil, with one-third of the branch exposed at the top, cover it with a thin layer of plastic film, and water it, watering it thoroughly at one time.

Hydroponic cutting method

1. Hydroponic container

For hydroponics, you need to choose colorless and transparent glass bottles. You can use tap water. Leave it for a day or two before use to allow the chlorine in the water to be released. Then add some nutrient solution and white vinegar to the water.

2. Cutting process

Choose semi-lignified branches with a length of about 15 cm, cut off the leaves on the branches, leaving only 3 to 4 leaves on the upper part, then soak them in rooting water for 10 hours, and then place them in a container for cultivation. They will take root in about ten days.

After the roots have taken root, the water should be changed every three days. When the leaves grow out, nutrient solution can be added to the water every 15 days. Cultivate the green radish in an environment with scattered light and keep the surrounding environment at 22 degrees Celsius.

Precautions for cuttings of green radish

1. Lighting

After the green radish is cut, place it in a ventilated place for cultivation. Avoid direct sunlight and grow it in an environment with scattered sunlight. Wait for it to grow new branches and leaves before exposing it to light.

2. Moisture

After cuttings, the green radish needs a sufficiently moist environment. Use a watering can to spray water around it every day to ensure that the soil is moist.
