Cultivation methods and precautions of Rhododendron red camellia

Rhododendron red camellia is a relatively easy-to-grow flower plant. This variety of camellia originally grew in the forest, so it prefers a cool and humid environment. It also has a strong shade tolerance and has now become a common flower in the south.

Cultivation method of rhododendron red camellia

1. Lighting

Rhododendron red camellia is a flower plant that likes sunlight. It is generally planted outdoors. If it is a potted plant, it is best placed on a balcony with better light. Although Rhododendron red camellia has a certain degree of shade tolerance, long-term lack of light will affect its flowering amount and it is easy to grow too tall.

2. Temperature

The heat resistance of Rhododendron Red Camellia is relatively high. Even in summer, as long as the temperature does not exceed 36℃, it can bloom in a high temperature environment. However, when the temperature is too high, it needs proper shade. When the temperature drops below 4℃, pay attention to keep warm.

3. Moisture

Rhododendron red camellia does not require much water and has a certain degree of drought resistance, but you should pay attention to watering it more in hot weather. If planted outdoors, water it at least once a day. In spring and autumn, water it once every 2-3 days, and in winter, water it once every 5 days.

4. Fertilization

Rhododendron Camellia has a large demand for fertilizer and water during the peak growing season. Cake fertilizer can be applied once a month, and potassium dihydrogen phosphate can be applied before flowering, but excessive fertilization should be avoided, and thin fertilizers should be used as the main fertilizer.

Matters Needing Attention in the Maintenance of Azalea Red Camellia

1. Avoid over-pruning

Some dry branches, old and weak branches, and diseased branches can be pruned appropriately, but do not prune too hard during shaping and pruning, otherwise it will affect the normal growth of the plant.

2. Avoid exposure to sunlight

Rhododendron red camellia is afraid of direct sunlight because the scorching sun can easily burn the leaves. However, except for the high temperatures in summer, it can fully enjoy the sunlight in other seasons.
