When does bougainvillea bloom (introduction to flowering period)

When does bougainvillea bloom (introduction to flowering period)

1. When to open

The general flowering period of Bougainvillea is from November to June of the following year. Due to the difference in climate between the south and the north, the flowering time is different. The temperature in the south is relatively high, so it can bloom in winter and spring, that is, in early November. Because the winter in the north is relatively cold, Bougainvillea cannot withstand the cold, so it may bloom in spring from March to April. It can bloom many times a year, and if properly maintained, it can bloom all year round, but this is difficult to achieve in ordinary households. Flowering time is also affected by the variety, some varieties bloom early and some bloom late.

2. How long is the flowering period?

The flowering period is different under different maintenance environments. Theoretically, the flowering period of Bougainvillea can reach 120 days. The flowering period is very long, and it is normal for the flowering period to last for 1-3 months. If you pay attention to maintenance, maintain sufficient light every day, provide 10-12 hours of sunshine, and have good ventilation, the flowering period may be longer, possibly reaching about 180-200 days. If the surrounding environment is not suitable or there are problems with maintenance, the flowering period may be shortened. Bougainvillea blooms very beautifully and there are many flowers, so you must pay attention to management during the flowering period so that there is a longer viewing period.
