What to do if black spots appear on Anthurium leaves

What to do if black spots appear on Anthurium leaves

1. Improper moisture

If black spots appear on the leaves of Anthurium, there is most likely a problem with watering. Generally, watering too frequently or not watering for a long time may cause this problem. Especially when there is too much water, it may damage its roots and stems, causing it to grow black spots.

Solution: Reduce or increase the number of watering according to the specific situation. Do not add water when the flower soil feels moist. Wait until it is dry before adding water.

2. Too much fertilizer

Anthurium also needs to be fertilized, but using too much fertilizer will not only hinder the normal growth of Anthurium, but may also change the chemical properties of the soil, making it unfavorable for the growth of flowers. Over time, Anthurium will naturally develop black spots on its leaves in such an unfavorable growth environment.

Solution: We need to replace the flower soil with new one and apply fertilizer reasonably. If the situation is mild, you can also use some other substances to neutralize the excess fertilizer.

3. Suffering from a disease

Leaf spot is a flower disease. Its symptoms are that black spots will appear on the leaves of the flowers, and then the black spots will slowly spread to the entire anthurium plant, which may cause the anthurium flowers to weaken rapidly.

Solution: The reason for this disease is that there is a problem with its growth environment, so you must increase ventilation at normal times. If black spots have already appeared on the leaves, the diseased leaves should be cut off in time when the disease just breaks out, so as to prevent the spread of the disease. You can also spray a specific medicine against leaf spot bacteria once a week. Doing this for a period of time can effectively inhibit the spread of the bacteria.

4. Notes

In addition to leaf spot disease, leaf blight and yellow spot disease may cause black spots on the leaves of anthurium. At this time, you can also choose to use some special medicines to treat them, and frequently clean the leaves with clean water.
