Cultivation methods and precautions of Nine-tailed Fox Succulent

The Nine-tailed Fox succulent is loved by many succulent lovers because of its peculiar plant shape and the beautiful red flowers it produces. It is also not difficult to maintain, especially in the summer which other succulents are afraid of. For the Nine-tailed Fox, it is basically not difficult and is suitable for novices to grow.

How to cultivate nine-tailed fox succulent

1. Soil

The nine-tailed fox does not have high requirements for the soil. It only needs to be loose, breathable and have good drainage. It can be mixed with peat soil, perlite, and Akadama soil. As long as the proportion of the drainage medium is not less than 60%, it will be fine.

2. Sunlight

The nine-tailed fox needs sufficient light during the maintenance process. Full-sun maintenance in autumn, winter and spring is the best. If there is insufficient light, the nine-tailed fox will easily grow tall like other succulents, and the stems will be thin and unattractive.

3. Moisture

The nine-tailed fox plant has a low demand for water. As a succulent variety of the cactus family, the nine-tailed fox plant is naturally very drought-resistant. It usually only needs to be watered once every half a month. In winter, water should be controlled appropriately, and a small amount of water should be applied about once a month.

4. Fertilizer

The nine-tailed fox needs to be properly fertilized during its growth process. Because its stems are super long and it will bloom, the nine-tailed fox has a relatively strong demand for fertilizer. Use potassium dihydrogen phosphate for fertilization, once every half a month or so, or you can directly sprinkle 20-30 grains of slow-release fertilizer in the flowerpot.

Precautions for caring for Nine-tailed Fox Succulent

The nine-tailed fox succulent cannot tolerate exposure to the sun in summer and is suitable for maintenance in a cool, ventilated place with bright scattered light. Otherwise, excessive exposure to the sun will cause the "hair" on its stems to grow longer and harder and turn light yellow, which will live up to its name of nine-tailed fox.

The nine-tailed fox likes a warm growing environment, and the suitable growth temperature is between 10-30 degrees. When summer comes, cooling measures should be taken. When the temperature is lower in winter, attention should be paid to anti-freeze, so that the growth temperature of the nine-tailed fox is not lower than ten degrees. This can help the nine-tailed fox grow better.
