Cultivation methods and precautions for potted bamboo

Potted bamboo is very easy to grow. Since many bamboos grow in mountains or barren places, the vitality of potted bamboo is very tenacious, and it can grow into a large piece even with rough care.

How to grow potted bamboo

1. Soil

When growing potted bamboo, it is best to use loose, well-drained loam that is acidic or neutral, with a pH value between 4.5-7.0, so that the potted bamboo can grow better.

2. Water and fertilizer

Potted bamboo likes moisture but is afraid of waterlogging. It needs to be watered thoroughly when it is first planted, and then just keep it moist. It is also necessary to spray water mist on the leaves. The fertilizer applied is generally compound fertilizer, and appropriate additional nutrients can be added during its growth period.

3. Lighting

Potted bamboo is relatively light-loving and cannot be kept in a cool place. It can receive light all day long, and bamboo likes to be in a warm environment. The most suitable temperature for growth is 15℃-20℃.

Matters Needing Attention in the Maintenance of Potted Bamboo

When caring for potted bamboo, be sure to replace the potting soil every 1-2 years to ensure that the soil has enough nutrients to supply the plant. In addition, the summer is dry and hot, so ventilation needs to be strengthened, otherwise it will be easily infected by pests. If pests appear, spray pesticides in time for prevention and control, and cut off dead leaves and diseased branches.
