Chocolate brick is a plant of the Crassulaceae family. It is usually brown-green in color, but its temperament is very unique. Especially in the autumn and winter when there is plenty of sunlight, it really looks like a chocolate-colored rose, and the color of the entire plant is very bright. How to grow chocolate bricks1. Pot soil Chocolate square bricks like loose, breathable, water-permeable, humus-rich sandy loam. They can be mixed evenly with peat soil or leaf mold, coal slag or coarse sand. When potting the succulents, a little bone meal can be added as a substrate. Changing the soil once a year is conducive to the good growth of chocolate square bricks. 2. Lighting Chocolate bricks prefer warm, sunny environments and avoid cold and direct sunlight. Except for the hot summer when shading and enhanced ventilation are needed, direct sunlight can be given in spring, autumn and winter to allow the plants to absorb light to their heart's content. 3. Water and fertilizer Chocolate square bricks like dry environment, are drought-resistant, avoid waterlogging, and have very little demand for fertilizer. Generally, they should be watered thoroughly when the soil in the pot is completely dry. Do not water them if the soil is not dry, as water will cause root rot. During the growing period, apply special fertilizers for succulents to make the plant thrive and the leaves round and thick. 4. Ventilation Chocolate bricks like ventilated environment, keep good ventilation and sufficient light during the growing period, and keep the plant compact and shaped. In the hot summer, it is necessary to shade and strengthen ventilation to prevent the pot soil from being too wet and the plant from blackening and rotting under high temperature. Chocolate brick maintenance precautionsChocolate bricks prefer a warm growing environment and are not cold-resistant in winter. They need to be moved indoors to a sunny place for maintenance, and the room temperature should be kept no lower than 5 degrees. It is best to place them in a sunny room so that they can safely overwinter. In addition, when the temperature drops below 10 degrees in winter, the chocolate bricks will enter a dormant state, growing slowly or stopping. It is necessary to control water and stop fertilizing. When the temperature drops below 5 degrees, cut off water to avoid frostbite. |
