How to grow tulips

How to grow tulips

1. Soil

When breeding, use loose and well-drained sandy soil, preferably slightly acidic, and not too sticky, otherwise it will affect growth. Only loose soil is more conducive to the emergence of seedlings and the development of root systems, so it is recommended to mix sand into the soil during preparation.

2. Lighting

It likes light, so try to let it get more sunlight during maintenance. If the light is not sufficient, the flowering period will be shortened and the flower color will become lighter. However, the specific light requirements also depend on the growth stage. If it is just potted, it should be properly shaded. After the seedlings emerge, the light should be increased. If the flower buds are coloring, strong light should be blocked.

3. Watering

The amount of watering during the cultivation period also depends on the growth situation. It should be kept moist after being planted in the pot to be more conducive to rooting. After germination, reduce watering and spray more water to increase humidity. During the flowering period, you need to add more water and nutrients to promote the growth of flower buds. But after flowering, you need to control the amount of water.

4. Fertilization

It does not require much fertilizer. When caring for it, you only need to apply fertilizer two or three times during the growth period of stems and leaves and after the flower buds appear. The fertilizer can be either decomposed manure or cake fertilizer.

5. Temperature

It is afraid of high temperatures and likes a cool environment. It can grow well in temperatures between 8 and 16 degrees. Therefore, you must pay attention to cooling measures in summer. When the temperature exceeds 20 degrees, it will affect the development of the root system.
