How to raise Clivia seedlings

How to raise Clivia seedlings

1. Appropriate shading

Because the seedlings cannot withstand the scorching sun, they cannot be exposed to direct sunlight, but they have certain requirements for light. Appropriate shading and exposure to scattered light are sufficient.

2. Watering needs to be appropriate

When applying water, you must pay special attention. You cannot leave it alone, nor can you apply too much water to cause water accumulation. Determine the frequency and amount of water to be applied based on the conditions in the potting soil. You can use the water mist method to replace part of the root watering and spray it on the leaves, which can both replenish water and clean the leaves.

3. Appropriate amount of nutrients

During the seedling period, the demand for nutrients is not large, so apply foliar fertilizer appropriately. The concentration needs to be lower, not too high. Too high a concentration can easily cause stress to the plants, and in severe cases can burn the roots.

4. Temperature needs to be controlled

For small seedlings, the temperature requirements are higher. It is best to control the temperature at 15-30℃. It is easiest to maintain and grow within this range. Exceeding this range will affect growth.

5. Choice of flower soil

The requirements for flower soil are high. It cannot be too coarse or too fine, but must be of moderate coarseness and fineness.
