How does Kalanchoe survive the winter?

How does Kalanchoe survive the winter?

1. Reduce watering

During the winter, the Kalanchoe must be watered less. It is best to add water appropriately according to the dryness of the soil. If the soil is not dry, there is no need to water it. If you continue to water the plants normally, not only will water accumulate, but the chance of the plants being frostbitten will also increase. Also, the water temperature for watering in winter should be similar to the room temperature, and do not use water that is too cold.

2. Ensure lighting

It is completely fine to let the plant receive sufficient light in winter. During the winter, it should be placed in a sunny place, which is beneficial for it to survive the winter smoothly. If the outdoor temperature is not too low during the day, you can also move it outside to see the sun when it is warm.

3. Proper ventilation

Plants usually spend the winter indoors. Many people do not pay attention to ventilation, and the breeding environment is too hot and stuffy, which may breed bacteria and harm the plants. Therefore, you should open doors and windows more often on sunny days, especially in air-conditioned rooms, and pay more attention to ventilation.

4. Control temperature

After winter, you should move the Kalanchoe potted plant indoors and let it spend the winter in a warmer environment. The indoor temperature should be around 15℃. If the temperature is lower than 5℃, it will not only be difficult to bloom, but frost damage may also occur.
