1. Cut the leavesThe leaves used for Sansevieria leaf cuttings must be strong enough and not damaged by pests and diseases. Using a pair of sterilized scissors, cut the leaves off the mother plant. Then cut the leaves into small sections of 6CM in length, and remember the positions of the top and bottom. Finally, place it in a well-ventilated place and dry the wound slightly, otherwise it will easily be infected by bacteria and rot. 2. Prepare the substrateBefore taking cuttings, you need to prepare a suitable substrate. The requirements for the substrate are not high, as long as it has a certain degree of looseness. It is best to add some sand to the soil. If old soil is used, high-temperature disinfection methods must be adopted to kill the bacteria in the soil. 3. Leaf cuttingsIf conditions permit, you can dip the leaves in an appropriate amount of rooting powder before leaf cuttings, and then insert the bottom of the leaves into the soil. Be careful not to insert the cuttings too deep, about 3-4CM into the soil will be fine. Of course, don't make it too shallow, otherwise it will easily fall over. 4. Cutting maintenanceAfter the cuttings are completed, they need to be properly watered, avoided from sunlight, placed in a well-ventilated place, the temperature adjusted to around 18-25℃, and wait for rooting. |
