Is it okay for Clivia to not see the sun?

Is it okay for Clivia to not see the sun?

1. Is it possible?

It is a shade-loving plant, but that does not mean it can grow without sunlight. If it is not exposed to sunlight for a long time, it will easily grow too tall, resulting in no flowering, and the leaves will easily turn yellow and be infected by diseases and pests, which is extremely detrimental to its growth. Therefore, it must be exposed to the sun. During maintenance, it is best to place it in a place with diffuse light indoors, or move it indoors to receive two hours of light every day. Be careful to avoid strong light, so that it can grow more healthily.

2. Maintenance methods

1. Watering: Its roots are fleshy, so you don’t need to water it too frequently during maintenance. Just keep it slightly moist. It should not be too dry or too wet, and there should be no water accumulation, otherwise the roots will easily rot.

2. Fertilization: When maintaining the plant, just apply an appropriate amount of fertilizer in spring and autumn. Note that the concentration of the fertilizer should be low to avoid root burn. Stop applying fertilizer during high temperatures in summer and low temperatures in winter.

3. Temperature: It likes a cool environment. The most suitable temperature for maintenance is between 15 and 25 degrees. It should not be lower than 10 degrees in winter, otherwise the plant will easily be frostbite. Pay attention to ventilation and cooling in summer, as high temperature will also affect growth.
