Mugwort planting conditions are suitable for planting environment and region

Requirements for growing wormwood

1. Temperature conditions

Mugwort is relatively cold-resistant and has different temperature requirements in different seasons. The temperature in winter can be kept at around 8 degrees Celsius, and the temperature in other seasons can be kept at 15-25 degrees Celsius. In the north, the weather is too cold in winter, and some warming measures need to be taken to ensure that it is not frostbitten, such as moving it indoors and covering it with film.

2. Lighting conditions

Mugwort likes an environment with plenty of sunlight. Adequate light supply is conducive to its growth. If the sunlight is too strong, the mugwort plants will easily be sunburned, so proper shade is needed in the summer.

3. Moisture conditions

During the growth period of mugwort, it is necessary to water it scientifically. It likes a slightly humid environment, but it is not water-resistant. After watering, there should be no accumulation of water in the potting soil, because if the environment in which the mugwort grows is too humid, it will have a serious impact on its growth.

4. Soil conditions

Mugwort is suitable for planting in loose, breathable and well-drained soil. In this way, after watering the mugwort, water will not easily accumulate in the potting soil. An overly humid environment is not conducive to the growth of mugwort, and it is easy to get diseased and may cause root rot.

The growing environment of mugwort

Mugwort has a very strong adaptability and often grows in roadside wilderness and grasslands. It can grow anywhere with sufficient sunlight and good drainage. However, moist, fertile, organic-rich sandy loam is the best choice for its growth. Mugwort cultivation requires sufficient sunlight and good ventilation.

Mugwort Planting Method

1. Planting time

The planting of mugwort is generally carried out in spring, approximately between March and April. The temperature at this time is suitable. The seeds can germinate better in such a temperature environment, and the seedlings can also grow better. The latest should not exceed early April, otherwise the temperature in the later period will be too high, and the high temperature will inhibit the growth of the seedlings.

2. Land preparation

The land used to grow mugwort must be prepared in advance. It is best if the soil is deep, loose and has a certain degree of fertility. After selecting the land, it can be deep plowed once, and an appropriate amount of fertilizer should be sprinkled to improve the fertility. 30 to 45 tons of farmyard manure can be sprinkled per hectare.

3. Planting seeds in the soil

Do not broadcast the seeds when sowing, otherwise the density will be too high. You can dig small holes at intervals of 40 to 50 cm, put 2 to 3 seeds in each hole, and then cover them with fine soil to bury the seeds. After planting, water them appropriately so that the soil and seeds can absorb moisture, which will promote faster germination.

4. Post-maintenance

The growth rate of mugwort seedlings is relatively fast and they consume a lot of nutrients. When the seedlings grow to 30 cm in height, they need to be properly fertilized to ensure sufficient nutrients. This will promote more vigorous growth of the seedlings. Topdressing can be done on rainy days so that the fertilizer can be diluted faster and the mugwort can absorb it better.
