How to keep the golden star in winter

How to keep the golden star in winter

1. Temperature

It likes to grow in warmer places. The temperature in winter must be above 10 degrees and not below 6 degrees at night to protect it through the winter. You can place it at a temperature close to 10 degrees. It can grow better.

2. Lighting

It likes to grow in sunny places. In winter, it can receive sunlight all day long without shading. You can turn it more when it is exposed to the sun so that it can grow more evenly. The shape is better too.

3. Watering

Note that you can water less on rainy days. Usually it likes the soil in the pot to remain dry, so water it moderately. If you water too much, water will accumulate and cause the roots of the plant to rot, and in severe cases, it will cause the plant to grow too tall. In addition, the leaves will not be compact and the shape will be loose and unsightly.

4. Fertilizer

It does not require very high fertilizer requirements. It is best to add less fertilizer or stop fertilizing in winter. When fertilizing, it is best to use fertilizers containing phosphorus and potassium. Be careful not to sprinkle it on the leaves to avoid burns and scars.

5. Pests and diseases

Although the probability of diseases and insect pests occurring in winter is lower than in other seasons. However, some insect larvae, pathogens, etc. are in a state of low-temperature dormancy. The best way at this time is to water the roots and kill them in the soil.
