How to make the trunk of a jade plant thicker

How to make the trunk of a jade plant thicker

1. Increase sunlight

Sunlight is the primary factor in synthesizing nutrients. If you want its trunk to become strong, you need to supplement it with enough sunlight. If the light is not strong, you can expose it to full sunlight appropriately, especially in winter. This is conducive to vigorous growth, and the trunk will become thicker and stronger. It cannot be placed in a dark place without light for a long time, otherwise not only will the trunk of the Jade Plant not grow thicker, but its growth will also be problematic, leading to poor growth and prone to various diseases and pests.

2. Prune side branches

The side branches that grow out should also be pruned appropriately so that the nutrients can be concentrated on the main trunk. Otherwise, too many side branches will disperse the nutrients. For parts that grow too densely, they need to be pruned once in a while to maintain a beautiful plant shape.

3. Nutritional supplement

The application of nutrition is also a key factor. During the period of vigorous growth, apply light fertilizer every half a month to fully meet its growth needs. The type of fertilizer mainly chosen is organic fertilizer, and secondly, inorganic fertilizer can be added appropriately to make its trunk become thicker.

4. Ensure the temperature

It is more suitable to maintain the normal temperature range on a daily basis, about 10-16℃. It is best to maintain a large temperature difference, which is conducive to the accumulation of nutrients and the trunk will become strong.
