How to grow cosmos

How to grow cosmos

1. Lighting

It likes to grow in an environment with good sunlight. Usually you can get more sunlight every day. Ensuring the light exposure time is more conducive to its growth. If placed in an environment with insufficient light for a long time, the plant will grow very short.

2. Watering

It has relatively high water requirements. Usually when the soil in the pot is relatively dry, you can water it 2-3 times a day. Pay attention to water control to avoid water accumulation that affects the normal growth of the plants. Normally you can water it once every 1-2 days.

3. Fertilization

You can apply base fertilizer before planting, or apply diluted fertilizer water once every 10 days when it is growing vigorously. If too much fertilizer is applied, it will affect its flowering and even cause the plant to grow too tall.

IV. Reproduction

Propagation is mostly done by sowing. Usually it takes place in March-April. When it is still a seedling, you need to pay attention to pinching. If propagating in summer, cuttings are often used. The survival rate is higher.

5. Prevention and control of pests and diseases

Common diseases that harm its growth include leaf spot and powdery mildew. You can use special powder to spray for prevention and control. Scarabs, aphids, etc. are common pests and can be sprayed with special medicines to repel them.
